Easy come easy go thats just how you live

This weekend went way to fast. I got a little bit done but really not that much. The main thing is I got my w-2s and was able to file my taxes. I must say I am VERY VERY happy with the results. I will be able to catch up on bills, buy the kids new clothes, save some for Christmas, get new tires, tags on my vehicles (because they are going to be due soon) and maybe just maybe save for a Disneyland trip next year. I am really excited to be able to do just the first few things! I must say it made me feel way better about this year.

I have only 2 more MODS left of school. I am half way through my 2nd to the last. It is a little scary. I know that it will be a good thing.

I managed to make a few valentines goodies for my swap partner. All of which I have not finished! I have many many ideas. I made this plushie deer. Should I include it in her package? I think I may.

Her name is Lucille.

I named her after this lady.
My idol.

She is perfectly imperfect.

Like me

And I think I am going to make these sometime soon.
Don't they look so yummy.

Forgot to mention Hubby and I want to run away together for Valentines Day. I think we are just gonna stay in town but rent a hotel so we can be alone. It is nice to get away. I cant wait. What is your plans for Valentines day?

When I try to understand she just opens up her hands

I had a very busy weekend. Hubby's Bday party was sat. I made the tacos I mentioned below. They were pretty good. I must say they tasted better the day after. Next time I will make them a few days in advance.

(can I just tell you how much I love this man? I mean really isn't he fun? Lucky I be.) I ♥ this picture.

I didn't take pictures of the tacos but I did of the spread.

It was pretty fun. I didn't get many pictures. Have I told you all my camera is just not herself? Yeah she fell and ever since then has been a royal diva! I do however use my iPhone but the pic quality is really bad.

My funny son with a stash.

We had cupcakes and played games. All in all a lovely day.

Went to the flea market on Sunday.Found this lovely milk glass dish.(1.00)

This oh so awesome owl ring (1.00)
I love the Flea Market. They had a vintage record player and a typewriter I wish I could have bought. *sigh*

& One more part of my vday decorations.
I love the red and the blue together.

Oh no fellow blog readers...I have found a new internet obsession. Pinterest. I resisted a bit but the beautiful stuff the girls were posting on FB sucked me in. BEAUTIFUL THINGS! The inspiration is just overflowing over there. The hard part is getting off there so you can use that inspiration.

In my search I found these...

My fav pie in a cupcake?!? I MUST make them.

It's us that made this mess

I had the worst past few days ever! I got the kid-o's stomach bug. I was knocked out on my butt for a few days. I did manage to make it to school but I hated every minute of it! Sad part was my hubby's birthday was the 20th and I was super sick that day. I feel so bad. I was gonna take him out to eat at 5 guys burgers and fries but we did a big fat NOTHING on the actual day. I just hope he knows how much I truly adore him. Saturday is the family get together and yummy (i hope) beef tacos.

I have more scraps to share. I have been playing with the AMM Jan kit creating my little heart out.

My beautiful daughter Raven blowing bubbles. I used Glimmer mist and OA modern homemaker.

Thought I would make some cute little pinwheels with some of the OA and fine and dandy brads. Stuck them in a hurricane filled with convo hearts and called it done. Very cute on a Valentines day table.

I found these sweet lovelies. I would love to have one...or both in my girl cave.

Very expensive. Maybe one day when I win the lottery (rolls eyes).

Some Maya Road peeks that I am swooning over.
Love the camera and the Keep calm of course!

I want! Everything else over there is fab!

Really want these from JB.

&

My fav line from Cosmo.

There is so many cool things coming out at cha I just don't know where to begin. Dang I really need to win that lottery. Ha! What is your fav CHA sneak so far? Do share pls!

This weekend is going to be super busy. It is suppose to be sunny so MAYBE just maybe I will get my girl cave cleaned out. I have to get organized.

School is almost over *gulp*. I have 1.5 months left then I go on extern. I am really praying I get a great job out of this. My dream though is to open up my own craft store/cupcake eatery lol! Again have to win the lottery for that one. Hmph!

What is your dream? Would you like to open up your own business? What would it be?

Have a wonderful weekend!

She's just a girl who says that I am the one

I had a lovely 4 day weekend. I really needed it. Although I didn't get my girl cave cleaned. That REALLY REALLY needs to happen. I keep telling myself to get rid of more paper. Hi my name is Marie and I am a paper hoarder. Seriously a mess. I mean I don't go in there very often (to cold right now) so I don't understand why it is so messy. Couldn't be that I never put things in their place or that when I look for something I just throw stuff around. Nah couldn't be that.

I looked around the net for beautiful lil crafty spaces to replace my old ugly one. This one I could so live with.

Cute.Sweet.Someday.

This weekend I did a bit of Valentines day crafting. I finally got my mantel all set up. I have to tweak here, step back, tweak there. It is done tho, I think.

Pete pots.

cost .15

Heart doily garland, pom pom napkin garland, felt heart garland.

The garlands cost me less then .50 to make.

Hurricane with wood grain, doily and felt hearts tied with twine. Inspiration came from Jenny Doh and Veronica Lopez.

Cost 2.05

I sat and picked out all the white hearts to fill my 2.00 milk glass candy dish.

Lastly picked some berry (?) sprigs from outside to fill my 2.00 milk glass vase. (Goodwill find)

I decided to do red and white for the mantel. I don't know why, just go with it.
:)

My decorations came in under 10.00 for the whole shebang. Of course the glass wares (which cost me the most) I can re-use elsewhere and will definitely get my money out of them.

The rest of my valentines day decorations to come soon and a tutorial on how to make the napkin flowers. :)

In other news hubby's birthday is Thursday. We are having a family get together and I think I am going to try my hand at this recipe.

I will let you know how it turns out.

But till the morning sun you're mine all mine

Thank you for all the love you left and for following my blog. I appreciate the time it takes to do both.

Did I tell you all I am doing the project 52? I mean I might as well I try to take at least one picture a day.

I figured once a week I wont fail. I am not sure what pictures that I take are for the challenge (haha) but I have plenty to choose from.

Deadlines are all finished. Now I can create freely. On the agenda is many many valentines crafts. I already started a few. Here is a peek of the doily garland I started today.

Also made some napkin heart doilies that Martha Stewart showed. Super cute and hecka easy. Not sure where or how I am going to use them yet but I will figure something out.

I went out shopping for my husbands birthday present and stopped off at the flea market. Every time I go I see the huge acorn trees and all the acorns all over the parking lot. Me, being the crafty gal I am, wants to bend down and gather a few hundred each time. I refrain. Family is with me and well people look at you funny. This day I was alone. So I picked up a few...or more and yes I got funny looks but that's ok.

I love them and I love what they are turning into!

I also scored a tiny milk glass candy dish.

$2.00 (better pic to come)

This 4 day weekend I did A LOT of movie watching.

Social Network-not bad
Yellow Handkerchief-liked it
Machete-brutal but good
Stone- eh
Blades of Grass-good
Get Him To The Greek (re-watched- funny as all heck

Trying to get my mantel all decorated up for Vday. Pics coming soon! I cant wait till its finished and I can share! :)

Lady lights a cigarette, puffs away, no regret

I managed to get 3 yes 3 layouts done with the Jan AMM kit. The first I used the sketch on the blog.

Raven, Me, and Aria on the swing set at the park. Swings really do give you wings. :)

This one is my favorite. I dont know why it is so simple and not much to it but I love the colors and that tag.

Lastly is the one of our New Years. I love this pic of my husband and I. Taken with my iPhone and edited in my fav app (instagram). Isn't the kit fab?!?

This is a story of a girl

(source)

This is post #250! In honor of my little blog post I would like to host a valentine exchange. How it works is leave me a comment I will pair everyone up and post it on the blog. You then will have to email each other addresses and send one handmade valentine to them and in return you will get one back. Does that sound fun? I will be playing along also.

I am really happy that I have stuck with this little blog through thick and thin. I started this blog not really knowing what would come out. Shortly after my husband got very sick. This blog turned into so much more then a place to post whatever. It became a place to express the pain and hurt I was feeling. The people who expressed concern and gave me their prayers was wonderful and amazing. For that reason and that reason alone I can not let it go. I love this blog.

My friend Diane and I want to bring blogging back to where it once was. I am totally a lurker. I follow many blogs get my inspo and leave. Don't leave love for the blogger always. Today that changes. I am taking the blog love pledge...Give a little love get a little love.

(tag template is from free pretty little things)
You re welcome to post the little tag on your blog.

That means if you leave me a comment I will make sure I come to your blog and leave some love too. Any blogs I visit I will make sure to leave some love. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling and it will catch on. Blogs are meant to be read, felt, and inspire and I hope that's what I do when I share with you all. Thank you for being a reader. Thank you for allowing me to share my stories with you. & thank you for leaving me love. :)

We were drawn from the weeds

I love shopping. I love it even more when its a great deal. The flea market just down the road from me is my fav. Next is the goodwill/thrift stores and antique shops.

On one of my outings I found this lovely candy dish.

2.00

This shirt was at the goodwill with the tag still on it.

3.50 from target. Score!

I would also like to share with you my cheap and easy New Years decoration.

You all know I am on a SUPER TIGHT budget.

Most of my decorations are handmade.

I was trying to figure out what to fill my apothecary jars with for the month. I think this was one of the best and cheap ideas I have had so far. I really love it. Used my printer and my paintshop program...Viola!

And I have some lovely beautiful scrappyness to look forward to! I love happy mail. I ♥ AMM! OMG what a way to start out the new year. I cant wait to get this kit. The vintage buttons are to die for.

You might wanna check out the blog.

(used scraps left over from my NOV Girls Loft Kit)I have a post over there sharing this little something. There is tons of inspiration over there.

Lastly I finally scrapped a page. It's been a month or two...maybe 3. Anyway I cant share the whole thing but I can give you a peek. Used my PSA stamps. This one is for their spot on HSN.

A little food for thought, is blogging dead? I have noticed not only on my blog but my friends also a decline in comments. Has FB and Twitter and all those other social medias killed blogging? I say more here then I do on any of my social networks. I will continue to share on my blog regardless. What do you think?
