Now let us drink the stars

Did you all have a wonderful Fathers day? We had a nice time. I made Fajitas for dinner and cupcakes for dessert. Turtle cupcakes....

Recipe for cupcakes.
BROWNIE BATTER
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup fat-free sweetened condensed milk
1/3 cup milk
1 (18.25 oz) box devil’s food cake mix
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix on medium speed for 2 mins until well combined. Using a small scoop (about 1.5 tbsp) drop batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze overnight.
CUPCAKES
1 (18.25 oz) box devil’s food cake mix
1 (3.9 oz) pkg Jello instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
1 cup sour cream
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk
2 cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray and line with cupcake liners. Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips into a very large bowl and mix on medium speed for 2 mins until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Using a large scoop (about 3 tbsp) drop batter into the cupcake liners, filling about 2/3rds full. Remove brownie batter from freezer and press into the cupcake batter. Bake for 22-28 mins. Allow to cool completely before frosting.

I put caramel sauce on the top of the cupcakes after they cooled then frosted with the new coolwhip frosting. Topped with more caramel and pecans.

Homemade chicken fajitas. They turned out sooo yummy. I let them Marinate in fajita seasoning and lime juice over night. Good times.

Last a little bit of creativity to share... One just because. I used my scraps that are over a year old. Pretty proud of myself.

That's it for now. Come back tmw for the Glitz blog hope and your chance to win a prize!!

Smiled with the risin' sun

Father's day is coming up. Do you have a few special dad's (or men) in your life? I do. My husband is the most special. I know you all know this. I have said it many times before. If you would like to skip over mushy then please do so now. (mushy stuff to begin)He has been there for me always. Good and bad. My best friend. My soulmate. My everything. We have learned to parent together... We aren't perfect and don't claim to be. He keeps me, me. We balance each other. We were meant to be. Over at Glitz we are celebrating that special MAN in our lives... This is my page dedicated to him...Us.

If you leave a comment on the Glitz blog you are entered to win a Glitzy prize! AWESOME!

I also have been doing a few videos. I am hoping to have one for the next Glitz layout. Please forgive them tho, I am using my iPhone and a board (yes you read that right, a board). You know I am on a tight budget (4 kids and all) soooo no extra money for video cameras or fancy tripods. It is what it is. Someday I will get something fancy. For now it works. I also have never really done this before so be kind. LOL! Anyway my first video to share will go up the 15th and it is for the new scrap jacked. I will show ya how I did the page I created for it. For now here is a peek.

I have been doing the Maggie H and Marcy P class over at Studio Calico... Here is a small page I did in my book. Really love this class. Lots of inspiration.

And in none scrappy related news...
I have been struggling with a few things at work. Well one thing, I cant stand that someone is saying things behind my back. Things that aren't true. It is only one person. I try very hard to be a good person, to be fair and let things go... But this person seriously wont quit. I am trying to let it go. I am trying to not let it hurt my heart. The stress it causes makes my chest hurt. I dont know why. Put it in a bubble and let it go.... Or so I tell myself. That is where my fav quote comes in. "I give myself very good advice, but I rarely seldom follow it." Let it go, you cant please everyone. *sigh* Why should it matter what this person thinks? It doesn't, so why does it bug me so much? Anyway...Putting it in the bubble...Now let it go, darn it! Haha!

Thanks for listening to my rant. Sometimes just saying it (or typing it) can be a little therapeutic.

I cant change

The next installment in the lost art of blogging. Haha! Dying with so many social media outlets. I mean they are instant gratification, wouldn't you say? It is so much easier to share things without having to actually SHARE things. I am seriously the queen. I do not write handwritten letters, nor email. I hate talking on the phone anymore. Please just text me. Yeah I am one of THOSE. I will try harder. To share. To have a real voice. I love my phone. I need to learn to put it down and do something that I wouldn't normally do. Maybe just one day a week. I will try. Whittle my social networking down. Or manage my time better. Yes THAT really needs to happen. HAHA!

Anyway have many many pages to share with you! I am sure if you follow me anywhere else (there is that social media thing again) you have seen these. Maybe you dont. For that reason, here we go.

Beware it is a lot of eye candy! Haha!

First up is the page I did for the Pop Off The Page 2 class. Challenge. I lifted JJ. I really love her style. She has been inspiring me since the sis days. Yeah I have been doing this a LONG time. HA!

My beautiful daughter Raven. My daughter raven. She is 17. She sometimes feels life is hard, unfair, maybe it's not worth it. Teens go through this. She is beautiful to me. I tell her it isn't as bad as it seems. Life is beautiful even with all the heartache and sadness. She will be 18 in a few months. It's been a long (seemed short) journey to this chapter, but it's been worth every bump. She is my first born. I am looking forward to what life brings us next.

Me and the girls at cha. This is for the scrapjacked that went up last month. You still have till the 15th to play. Why not do so?!

Used lots of Whisker Graphics for this page. It is for the DT. I love those glassine bags. I layered bags on top of bags. Divine twine was used to stitch the tag.

All these next ones are made with the March Studio Calico kits. That whole lot inspired me. I love the Neverland kit.

So many different techniques. This one I cut my quote with my cameo. Layed down washi tape, misted then pulled up my washi tape. Laid down my quote and traced it with my gold pen. Viola. Title created. This was quite by accident. Haha!

For this one I cut that file (one of my fav) and I really wanted to make it pretty but subtle. I layered my washi tape sticky side up. Different colors. I then sprinkled it with glitter. Bam. Instant sparkle. Of course I used a transparent glitter so my washi would show through.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my cameo? Well I do. This one has a few cut files on it. The title, the frame, the butterflies. LOVE! I also like to cut my files a head of time so I usually do so in a nuteral cardstock. This one was a shimmery white, it didn't match the colors and I wanted it to pop. I misted it with the mister huey and now it looks awesome. Haha! I love how it turned out.

Last one for now. I misted a few doilies and then cut them up. I put them together with some staples and made my own pie chart. I also made my own frame for this page by cutting some cardstock by hand. Lastly I used glue and glitter on my clothes pins, spots and heart.

That is all for now. Today is NSD and I actually have it off. Not going to go anywhere. Sit at home and make something pretty. How bout you?

Give you all my hours

Sometimes I am not sure how to start out these blog posts. I feel like I say the same thing over and over. In high school I use to be able to put my feelings on paper. I could write better then I spoke. Not true any longer. I dont know why that is. Am I out of practice? Yes. Am I lazy? Could be... I dont know the one main reason but I do know it comes a lot harder now then it did a long time ago. I do think that my feelings are better expressed in my pages. They arent as deep as my past writings but they do have lots of feeling.

Speaking of feeling, I just started a this is me album. I must tell you I thought it to be a bit selfish. I wanted to do one but I just couldnt justify it. I kept telling myself that no one would want to read a book about me. No one would care. My kids know me. Then I REALLY thought about it. I thought about MY mom and grandma and great grandma. I wished I had knew things about them. Little things. Big things. Things. I finally had justified it. Commence the book making!

If you know me, you know I love making mini books. There is just something about filling them with odds and ends that bring so much gratification. I love using anything and everything. I also love making my own base. I have bought my fair share of pre-made books but always get way more satisfaction in a handmade one.

Of course I had inspiration in making said book. The THIS IS ME class over at SC. Lexi came up with some awesome prompts and it has really got me thinking. I am really in love with doing this book. Ok enough of me talking about it here is the cover and a few pages.
The cover is denim and gold. It is made of chipboard and I just covered it in denim fabric I had laying around. I cut the chevron v from same said fabric and glued that down. Then I took some gold glitter ribbon and glued down a chevron v. Clustered a sc tag, Jenni Bowlin circle, vintage butterfly button and some leaves.

My title page...
My first two pages...Me.
This book is gonna be huge. LOL! Hopefully I stick to this and finish it.

I also got a really cool present from my hubby.
Canon Selphy cp900. This will help me in my scrappin journey. Love it.

For all my horror fan friends...

Went and saw Evil Dead on premier night. Yes I love horror. And I LOVED IT. Must see.

Do the Harlem Shake

Many pages to share. So lets get on with it.

This one is made for the Whisker Graphics blog. Used their goodie bags for the background and but the black and white chevron for the boarder of the photo. I also used divine twine and one of their tags. Love those darn bags and Glitz! LOL!

Lots and lots of Glitz. It has been really cool to give myself a goal of using up my stuff. I mean I am trying really hard to use it all. Yes I can have a little here or there left but I want to use the majority of the things I buy. ESPECIALLY the paper. I mean I have tons of paper sitting in my crafty cottage from years back. I go through it every year and either throw it out or give it to the kids. This does not stop me from buying more. Soooo I have semi learned my lesson and am now on the right path. Or so I hope. I have been doing this a long time and it has taken me a long time to see the light lol! I mean dont get me wrong it is a given to use the crap you buy, right? But actually doing that is a whole nother story!

I am trying to be a good blogger. I like my posts short and sweet. With the new laptop it should be easier. Or so I thought. It isnt. I seem to not wanna lug it out. My phone is simple. Instagram is simple. BLogger is not. SO much thought. Effort. Spelling and grammer. Ah yes, I am a lazy american. Thank you for noticing! HAHA! I will not apologize. It is who I am. I will try to change tho. I will say more... Maybe.

and in other news...The new scrapjacked is posted. I will post my take soon. I really hate windows 8. Anyone else? Oh and we made a few Harlem Shake videos. Check them out and have a laugh. :)

Oh and today's my birthday!

I just wanted to catch the last laugh from this show

Been keeping busy, Instagram, valentines day, WORK. That 4 letter word is the sucker of all my time and energy. I am thankful I have a job, I need a job, but ya know, just wish I was doing what I truly love 9 hours a day. Sucking saliva and cleaning teeth aren't really inspiring creatively. Lol! Again super grateful I have said job.
On to the stuff I love. Creating. I have been almost creating everyday. Be it something small or something big. It helps to do so, keeps that creativity flowing and that fire burning. So here is a few of those bits.

Must say this fox mini book was inspired by my meeting with "dear lizzy" at cha. I love foxes and so does she. Blah blah blah... This came out of that meeting.
His name is Cash & I think I love him. He needs a girlfriend. Yes, I'll get right on that.

A mini book using a lot of whisker graphics bitty bags and twine.

Next is a few pages I've done. Just for kicks. Those are the best. No stress, no deadlines...

Lastly some pics of my life in Instagram. I love that darn app. For more reasons then I can confess.

I had a wonderful valentines day...Come back if you'd like to see! I would love to share.

Till next time!
