Her green plastic watering can

Ahh the past few days have been simply lovely. Spring like even. I cant wait for spring. It makes me happy and fills my soul with laughter. Seriously. Sadly it is suppose to rain for 4 days. *insert sniffles*

I took my valentines decorations down. A little sad to see them go. I still would like to make more v-day treats but it is time to move on. Any guesses on what I am moving on to? If you said easter you would be correct! *wink*

I started making easter cards. Tara so kindly agreed to be my permanent swap friend so I had to start thinking of pretty little things to make her. I am so inspired by her. She had these adorable paper cakes on her blog that she made with her daughter. I got the idea of using the same kind of concept but instead making easter eggs.

I used the new Sass Smitten line for this one.

This one I used Sass mix & mend.

Oh and silly me I forgot to post that I wore my DIY sweater for our little v-day party.

& made me a little v-day hair clip.

Last but not least did you know Simply artistic is posting a new challenge March 1st? I have my card already made. Make sure to check them out and we could end up being swap partners! :)

There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me

My last post for this month. I have officially put away all the thanksgiving/fall decor and busted out the Christmas stuff. Before I start posting all the wonders that is Christmas I have one last fall decorating (and thanksgiving day) post to share.

My sweet little dvd cabinet that I fixed up. Notice one of my most precious mercury glass knobs is broke? Hubby did that. When he told me about it I wanted to cry. My husband of course was very sorry. It still stings when I see it missing. I will someday be able to replace it. Anyway I printed the little vintage postcard to stick in my apothecary jar and that little owl cost me .75, feather, pumpkins and leaves all fill the other jars. Free fall stuff.

The thankful banner I made with my PSA stamps. They have the most beautiful letters. I will be making another for Christmas. I love how it came out. Very easy too.

I also made the kids tic tac toe games for them to play while they waited for dinner or after.

These fall leaf picks

and this tiny Give Thanks mini mini book. All of them I used the Hello kitty stamp set from PSA.

All of it has been packed away for next Thanksgiving. We did have a pretty good day. Stressful but good. The kids loved all the food.

The turkey looks really good. Sadly I think I cooked it a little to long. It wasn't as juicy as I wanted. I don't have a meat therm so I was really just guessing. Next year I am investing in one.

Finished the feast off with a little friendly game of chess with Uncle Rob.

Oh and a tat done by my 14 (soon to be 15) year old daugher Raven.

December holds so many things. Christmas mantel is started. Ravens 15Th birthday is being planned. A little get together with a whole lot of family Christmas eve. *sigh* Of course a whole lot of Christmas craftiness. Stay tuned.

Hope you all had a wonderful (thankful) day!

Oh white meat dark meat I just cant choose

Thanksgiving is only one week away! You know what I am thinking so I wont even type it. Right? Right? Moving on. I am doing Thanksgiving at my house (as I stated in a previous post) so I have been frantically searching the internet for (cheap) fall decorating ideas.

I found the acorn banner (link posted 2 posts down) and decided that is way easy (cheap) and super cute to make. I went to work.

I finally got my printer in working order after much frustration but way less money then it would've cost for new cartridges. Guess I am thankful for the frustration and saved money. Anyway printed out the acorn pattern Rachel provided. Used cardstock I had and Dollar store wood grain contact paper. VIOLA! Cute acorn banner done!

Then I searched high and low for a super easy way of making paper garland. I have a ton of scrap paper that I keep saying I am going to sell or I let the kids make birthday cards with. The pile keeps growing and growing. So the other day I thought eureka I have it! I will punch all those papers up and use them for paper garland. Hehehe smart smart me. I sat and watched a few shows and punched till my fingers hurt.

I found a site that said use wax paper to make the garland. I went to reach for my wax paper and wouldn't you know it...I was out! Grr what to do? I have a ton of tissue paper (super cheap) and decided it must work the same way and tried it..Indeed it does! I will say little bits of paper get stuck on the thread but they easily come off.

First I cut thin long strips from the tissue paper and spaced my punched circles out on the tissue paper. I used very little glue stick glue to keep them in place. I do mean very little! If you use to much the tissue paper will be stuck on your paper.

Ran it through my sewing machine just as if I was sewing a dress or shirt (haha yeah right never have done that before).

When I came to the end of one strip I just fed another through after it. Once I got all my strips sewn I then pulled off the tissue paper. It comes away easily and I only used about 2 sheets! I love paper garland and the best part is it cost me 0, nada, nothing to make! I had all the supplies already.

I also found some very sweet printables on MarthaStewart.com and used those throughout the living room. The squirrels are my very favorite.

I had the silver glittery pumpkin/gourds from halloween. They are perfect for thanksgiving too if I do say so myself.

The flower garland on the mirror is made from white cupcake liners I also purchased (you guessed it) the dollar store. I will show how to make those in the next post.

I really wish I could do more. I want a new mirror for that mantel and still have yet to find something to put above the mirror. I have the angel but its just there temporarily.

I must say it is hard to decorate on a non-exsistant budget, but possible. Hope I have inspired you to save a little money and gave you some ideas for your own thanksgiving celebration! More to come.

I've gone away don't call me don't write

Yay it is October 1st. I have only one request. Please please please linger a little October. Don't leave in such a hurry like September did. Take it slow and easy. Oh and lets have some really cool fallish days. At least 90% of the month. Ok?

Now that I got that out of the way...I have some really cool news to share. I am a member of the PSA dt! I was contacted in August by Libby to make some things with their stamps and if they liked what I made then they would invite me to be on their dt. Well I couldn't pass it up because they were sending me their hole Halloween line for free! Even if I didn't make the dt I still got some really killer stamps.

A little sneak.

I am sooo thrilled that I DID make it and am now going to be working with ALL the stamp sets making some really neat stuff! Can't wait to get started. I have lots of Halloween stuff to share with you but that has to wait till next week. The stamps are truly cute and easy to use so you must check them out. :)

Also the new prompt is up over at simply ArTistiC. Here is my little ATC.

Handmade those flowers out of book pages. I love how they look and they are super easy to make. Go check out what the other girls made! Lovely.

I am doing good in school. I coronal polished my husband and my daughter the other day! So fun. My son is next. Really weird to think I could be doing this to your teeth someday! LOL! Well if any of you come to my dentist that is. I really am looking forward to this career. It isn't my first choice (because like everyone else here I wish I could open up my own business(a scrap store) and be creative for a living) but it is really really cool.

Eeeee love these pics my hubby snapped of me. Makes it feel more real. ;)

Tmw is the Boy-o's 10th birthday! I am off to get ready for that and (hopefully) start decorating for Halloween outside. Have a lovely weekend all!

No regrets just love

Man this poor little blog gets neglected so bad. As do many things in my life. I say I am going to change and try to be better. Yes that lasts for a bit but I always fall back into my old ways. Can you truly teach a old dog new tricks? I would like to think so. I mean so far with school I am doing way better then I did in high school. Not that I didn't have the potential to be a straight A student it was just I was lazy and wanted to be more social then anything.

(made these in class)

Speaking of school I am as I stated above a straight A student. So far. It seems to me to get harder and harder as time progresses. That's ok I just have to look at it as a challenge right? I am hoping to get hired on at the jail when I am done. Yes I said JAIL. The money made there is insane. No joke. That would be so awesome to make that kind of money. My family would be well taken care of and we could finally afford to fix the things that need to be done on this falling down old shack. *sigh*

I started a daily goal over at FB. I think I will make it last 365. HOPE. I start these things but very rarely finish them. I am on day 4. :) You may all join me if you like.

The new prompt is up over at Simply ArTistiC. Here is mine.

I love Alice in Wonderland and I am so enjoying making these sweet cards.

I got my special package in the mail and I am sooo excited to create with it. I have made a few Halloween things but I have so many ideas. I have to lock myself in the girl cave one day this weekend and just knock them out.

There are a few things I really want to do and hopefully I can get to those this weekend too. I have to study for my test on Tuesday and then our final for MOD C is on Thursday! YIKES! BUSY BUSY! I will make time for everything. I must.

3 day weekend and then another one coming up! Woot! Have a wonderful Labor day weekend!

They made a statue of us

Let's slap the bad news bear horse in the rear and get it the F outta here! LOL! I had my first final Tuesday. I was sooo super worried because really didn't know what in the heck to study. I studied it all. That. Was. A LOT. LOL! My brain has a hard time retaining all of it. I mean seriously. The final was 175 questions. YIKES! I thought the best I would do is a b. I surprised myself. I got an A! What!!! I was so freaking excited. I got the highest score in my class. I missed 8 out of 175! *deep breath*

We had Wednesday off and I had to go get my first Hep B shot. OUCH! Not fun. Then after that I didn't feel like doing a darn thing. Not one. I actually sat around and missed going to school. I organized my backpack and did my vocab words for the next MOD. Yeah I am a nerd like that.

Yesterday I started my new MOD and it is gonna be super fun. Mixing all the fun junk we get to mix. Making cast and what not. Fun fun fun! Got a little taste of that yesterday. Mixed some composite and some cement. I really am loving school.

On to some craftiness. I got a totally cool email. I will share with you soon-ish but it made my week. I can't wait to play with this new company. :)

Sunday my lovely friend CP is coming to play and she is bringing Veronica from Shabby Chic tags. Double Woot! I can not wait! I have fun with CP and I know I will have fun with Veronica. She maybe bringing some tags for us to play with too. How cool is that?!?!

I made some things here and there and now I am going to share.

This is my hubs and me. Just a bunch of stuff layered together.

Used the Jenni Bowlin kit for this and it was inspired by Amanda I believe?!?!

This one I made up at SB Territory. Loved that bird. Loved the yellow and I actually like the pic. It all just kinda fell together.

I miss going to the sb store and scrapping with my girls. I really could use some scrap retail therapy. *sigh* Hopefully soon.

Working on the new prompt for ArTistiC. Hopefully some Halloween crafts soon because you all know how much I love me some Halloween craftiness!

Lastly I am wondering who inspires you? Who is that person that gets your creativity going when you are in a slump? Share!

Everything seems to look as it should

First let me tell you the new Mojo is up! Come and play along.

This month is soooo busy. I have so many things planned in between work of course. Last weekend we went up and visited Columbia. My mama is a Docent up there and they were having a event they call The Diggins. The park sets up a tent town and they have the docents act out how it was in the 1800's. It is really neat. My mom worked at the laundry and the bakery.

I have been to Columbia many many times but never been to this event. We had a wonderful time indeed. You had to buy "eagles" if you wanted to get anything there.

Those 3 went to all the lemonade you could drink and a cute tin cup you got to keep. There was lots to do and see. We had a wonderful time.

This boy was soo freakin cute in his get up I had to take a pic. He totally paid me no mind as I snapped away.

My cute mom showing my son Aeden how they washed clothes in the old days.

I'll take all one of these in my back yard pls! :)

Ok so that is all I will share from our trip. On to a house pic. I re-did my frame wall. Tell me what ya think.

I went croppin with Erika and my cousin. Had a great time. I am really looking forward to a crop in Berkley on the 25th! My girls Kerry, Nikki, Ginger, Diane, and maybe Cheri, Erika, and cousin will be there too! It will be a hoot.

This weekend is my husband and my 3 year wedding anniversary. Oh and fathers day too lol! I have two days off work so that should prove to be very lovely. Cant wait for that. Then the weekend after is NWF camp out in your back yard day! Mark your calendars for June 26th if you want to participate.

I'm planning our second annual Tea party, & second annual Boys vs Girls water balloon fight! Not to mention Lost Boys on the beach in Santa Cruz, one of my fav movies at my fav beach! Can't wait for that!

What are your plans for the summer?

And it whispers to me softly, "come and play"

My lovely daughter Raven and my sweet son Aeden graduated Thursday. My daughter from 8th grade and my son from Kindergarten. My babies are growing up so fast. My head is spinning from all the tears that I cried that day. So many feelings. Proud of the young people they are growing up to be and sad that they are just growing up. My daughter was on the honor roll and my son's teacher raved about how smart and well behaved he is. Being a parent is sometimes hard, frustrating, worrisome, and heartbreaking but it is always fulfilling.

The love you give and get is like no other. I am truly a lucky woman to be blessed with 4 beautiful children {& a loving hubby}.

My sweet children on mama's day.

I did a bit of crafting here and there. Here is my cupcake garland I made awhile back.

Some pages I forgot to share here.

On the home front...I painted the part of the column that was pumpkin, blue. I also found a different shelf to put under my window and painted that blue. Pics to come soon. I put one of my brownies on a shelf with my sweet dear I found at a antique store.

Many many things in store. Hopefully I can find time. :)
