Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore

Back again with a post from Scrap Jacked. The video you all have been waiting for (yeah right). It's not great, and far from perfect. A lot like me. Hehehe! It is something tho. I tried. I really like doing them. They prove to be a challenge. I really need a video camera. Anyway here ya go.

The finished page.

I really enjoyed making this background. If you would like the cut file I created here ya go...Cut File

I finished the cover to my Happy Little moments book. I really like how it turned out. I struggled with it for a day or so. I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint, cover it, or leave it tan. In the end you can see I painted it and added modeling paste with a triangle stencil. LOVE how that turned out. I love modeling paste. My fav thing. It's a little messy but super fun.

I received so many lovely comments and likes on my IG. Thank you!!

To start our summer off right we went to the fair. Sadly my kids have never been. Reason is I have 4. Fairs are not cheap. 25 dollars a kid to ride rides. Plus admission, plus parking, food, drinks, games... Yeah! It is very expensive. We made it happen tho. They quite enjoyed themselves.

One of my pictures was shared by my city (Stockton Ca) and received 620 likes! Really cool.

If you didn't win that prize but are in a prize winning mood, I have another blog hop going on till midnight tonight. The hambly post below this one. If you leave me a comment there and become a follower then I will send you a little something.

Even after all that hoppin I managed to pump out a few layouts. Here is one I did for the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch.

A picture of the giant dipper in Santa Cruz. This ride is one of my favs but it kills my back every time. I mean even when I was a kid! I have to say my 84 year old grandmother went on it! She was hurting for a while after tho! I hope I am that way when I get to be her age.

And a few more just because I love to create with my hands!

I did this photo for the photo a day challenge in feb. I try to find a different way of photographing things on that list. This one was a heart.

Another a photo a day pic. Again me being silly. I love silly.

Instagram photo. I really do adore spring. It is not to hot, not to cold. The flowers are blooming and birds are singing. Ahhh! I must say I do also love fall tho. Hehe!

One last thing...Another blog hop is coming this weekend...32 blogs are on the list! That is 32 chances to win some fab prizes. Will you be there?

If fairy tales did exist

I was a picture taking fool Sunday. I guess I was making up for the week of work. Who knows.

My kitty had kitties. 2. One boy and one girl. This is the boy giving his mommy a hug. Aww!

This one got the most comments on FB and Instagram I have ever seen...I guess you all dont have spiders like this where you are. I see these suckers all the time. He is feasting on another ugly spider. Gah! Now ya know why I hate spiders! LOL!

We also had a solar eclipse that day! So cool. We made some make shift solar eclipse wearing gear and got to see it. It was pretty cool.

Of course what would my posts be without some scrappy love. Made this using the studio calico kit. Again.

Studio calico papers. Yum. I love the little mushroom and glass bob.

One of the last ones I made for Hambly. :(

How was your weekend? Could you see the eclipse?

& Just Like Them Old Stars

More studio Calico lovely bits to share. I told you I was in love with that kit.
My two daughters (Raven and Aria) playing at the park. They have a huge water feature that they love. This was of course last summer. It is getting that time of year again.

This one is of my uncle and aunt way back when. They have been together a long time and she has put up with a lot. I admire her love for him.

On to non related scrap stuff. Just a few pics of some stuff in my life. Aeden (8 yr old) wrote a book for school about bullying. So cute! I love it soo!

A few bits of life from me. Pizza my hubby made me for our anniversary. Me making messes. Cookies baked by hubs. A dead lady bug I thought looked beautiful against the black asphalt (april photo a day)
Lastly I had a real craving for lemon bars. So I went on pinterest and found a recipe for these.

They were pretty good! Here is the recipe!

Perfect Lemon Bars
Crust
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon zest
1/2 cup butter, room temperature

Filling
4 large eggs
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed and strained

Preheat oven to 350F. Line 9×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil.
Make the crust. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt and lemon zest. Cut butter into chunks and add to flour mixture. Blend in with an electric mixer at low speed until mixture forms coarse, sandy crumbs. Pour into pan and press mixture down (with your fingers or the back of a spoon) into an even layer.
Bake for 16-19 minutes, until just lightly browned around the edges.

While crust is baking, make filling. Whisk together all filling ingredients in a large bowl.
When the crust comes out of the oven and is still hot, pour in filling mixture.
Bake for about 20 minutes, or until filling is set and does not jiggle when the pan is gently shaken.
Cool completely before slicing.
Top slices with confectioners’ sugar to serve.

Makes about 24 bars.

NSD is fast approaching. What do you have planned?

Sometimes when I miss you I put those records on

It's my birthday! I think I've finally gotten (mostly) over the being in my 30's drama. It was a hard pill to swallow. Now I have just come to terms that I'm old. There is no stopping it. It sucks. Move on. Lol!
Trying to create every day. Every. Day. So far so good. Just taking a few mins out of my busy day to glue or cut, helps keep my creativity flowing. Some sneaks.

When I went to the crop with the girls I actually managed to make stuff. Here are those pages.

What ya think? I like the one of my hubby a lot. It was pretty fun to make. Love me some studio calico.

Lots of ig photos to share. Doing the march photo a day and I'm really trying to stay on top of it.

Just a few...ok a little more then a few but I do love taking them.

Till next time!

Lying underneath the stormy skies

I have been a creating demon lately. Sadly none of them I can share. Just yet anyway. I find that very difficult. I like to share my creations right away. Sometimes when I don't I forget about them. Lol!

I do however have a few I made for a million memories. They are valentines-ish but that's ok right?

Used the ever so lovely crate paper for these which you can find in the store. Michelle always has a sale going on. I highly suggest u order from her. :)

I do have lots of peeks to share. Wanna see? Ok.

I really like the dear lizzy line. Honestly I wasn't liking it so much when I saw it. I passed it by a few times. Michelle sent it to me to play with and well you see up there I went to town. LOL!

Have I mentioned I love instagram? It has gotten me to document my life. Sometimes I grow to busy for it but I just pick up where I left off. Here are a few of my photos I have been posting.

5 random things about me.

We took the kids out to Denny's. Some yummy photos from that. They enjoyed themselves.

That is it for now. Come back soon I will have the new creative type challenge to post!

Send me away with the words of a love song

I decided I would start trying to do a week in the life. The reason...I take pictures almost everyday. Instagram is kind of my week in the life already. I am not really making any changes except taking a few more pictures. Here is my attempt.

Hubby made me breakfast. Yummy!

Finished up a lot of deadlines. :)

Tried a pinterest recipe. Salsa chicken made in the crockpot. Pretty delish and easy.

Movie date night with my hubby. Went and saw The Help. LOVED IT!

Found out someone has been making messes in my scrap room. Couldn't have been me!

So I cleaned it.

Hubs and I took a swim in the pool. I love him so. Look at how cute he is!

Caught a praying mantis for the kids (and myself :)

Had a complete fit because I lots this! Found it the next day. LOL!

Snacked on cherry tomatoes and made a grilled Havarti cheese sammy. Mmmm!

Had a tiny little B-day party for my dad.

Tried Chicken Thai pizza. And liked it.

Ended my week with a little more scrapping. Used a lot of the Amy Tangerine line. Had a wonderful week indeed!
